In recent years, Vietnam’s nail industry has experienced impressive growth in both scale and quality. From small local salons, the market has expanded to include high-end nail studios inspired by Korean, Japanese, and European styles in major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang.

According to the Vietnam Beauty Association, the demand for nail care services has increased by an average of 15–20% annually. After the COVID-19 pandemic, more customers began to value relaxation and self-care experiences. Today, nail services go far beyond simple manicures or nail art — they now include natural nail care, gel and acrylic application, nail repair treatments, and full hand-and-foot spa experiences.

One of the most prominent trends is the influence of Korean beauty culture. Korean-style nail salons emphasize luxurious interiors, strict hygiene standards, and the use of premium imported products. This shift transforms a nail appointment into a moment of indulgence and relaxation, much like a spa experience.

At the same time, the industry offers growing job opportunities for young people. Thousands of trainees graduate from nail academies each year, finding employment both domestically and abroad — particularly in the United States, Japan, Korea, and Europe, where Vietnamese nail technicians are highly respected for their precision and craftsmanship.

However, challenges remain in terms of professionalization and service standardization. Many small salons still lack proper hygiene measures, chemical safety, or customer service training. Experts suggest that Vietnam’s nail industry would benefit from more certified training programs, stronger professional associations, and greater investment in skill development to elevate the industry to global standards.

With its rapid development and international potential, Vietnam’s nail industry is no longer seen as a simple craft but as a thriving creative business — one that showcases Vietnamese talent and artistry to the world.
